CCS Scaffolding Ltd are proud to be supporting Sian Formwork on the EKFB Joint Venture with the delivery of the G2S North section of the HS2 route, a technically demanding stretch featuring a diverse range of civil engineering solutions including viaducts, river bridges, integral structures and top-down construction techniques. Our role has focused on providing safe and efficient scaffold access and temporary works design and management across a geographically expansive and logistically complex section of the route

Our works to date have included access solutions for bridge pier construction, scaffolding for reinforcement and formwork operations and safe working platforms across multiple major structures. We have also played a vital role in enabling heavy lifting operations for bridge beam installation by providing bespoke scaffold solutions for pre-lift preparation, alignment works and post-installation access.

Working closely with both Sian Formwork and EKFB site and engineering teams, CCS Scaffolding have ensured consistent delivery of safe working access across a logistically challenging and continuously evolving construction programme. Our full-service approach including project management, scaffold design and temporary works coordination has allowed us to respond flexibly to shifting priorities and complex sequencing requirements.

· Access Scaffolding: Design and installation of bespoke scaffold systems across a wide variety of structures to support pier construction, reinforcement fixing, concrete pours and formwork erection.

· Bridge Works Access: Provision of access scaffolds to facilitate installation of bridge decks, PCC shells, parapets and temporary works interfaces for multiple integral and composite bridge structures.

· Viaduct & River Bridge Support: Scaffolding solutions to support safe working at height for large viaduct and river bridge construction including cantilevered working platforms and encapsulated areas.

· Top-Down Structures: Specialist access systems for confined and below ground environments including internal shaft and wall access to support top down construction techniques.

· Temporary Works Integration: Collaborative scaffold design aligned with TW coordination including CAT II/III checks and Form C submissions where required.

· Safe Working Practices: Provision of detailed WPPs and task briefings fully integrated with the site’s SSOW and safety management processes.

Since early 2022 we have been actively engaged in providing scaffold access solutions across multiple work fronts, ensuring uninterrupted progress regardless of shifting schedules or site demands. The delivery of this challenging and diverse infrastructure programme on behalf of EKFB continues to demand high levels of coordination, adaptability and technical expertise, all of which CCS Scaffolding are proud to contribute as a trusted delivery partner.

Challenges:

· Providing consistent, adaptable scaffold access across a dispersed site with multiple concurrent structures and construction methods.

· Coordinating access around heavy lifting activities and limited crane availability.

Successes:

· Safe and continuous scaffold provision enabling efficient progress of key structures.

· Positive feedback from the EKFB team on scaffold quality, design responsiveness, and on-site professionalism.

· Delivery of multiple high-risk access systems without incident or delay.
